National off-road Quad racing

Karen Wentworth
National off-road Quad racing

I have been involved with quads for many years now, starting off a long time ago with recreational riding, and over the past 5 - 6 years progressed to racing seriously. I started off competing in local club events at Rover Off-Road Motorcycle Club as well as Algoa Off-Road Club, and a few years ago started competing in a few national events, and have now been on the National Quad Off-Road Circuit for 2 years. In 2007 I competed in the National Ladies Class and won 2nd place. This year, 2008 I competed against the men in the Masters National Class and won 3rd place.

I started racing a Yamaha Blaster 200 and quickly moved on to a Raptor 660 which I raced for about a year and a half. I then progressed to a Suzuki LTR 450 which I have been racing for the last few years.

A few of my achievements other than the National results, was winning the Ladies Quads for 3 years at Rover Motorcycle Club, 2nd in the Senior Class for Regional Off-Road 2007, 1st place in the Toyota 1000 Desert Race 2007, and many others.

In 2009 I will be racing for Honda SA on the newly launched TRX700xx quad. I am looking very forward to the challenge which I will be presented with.

I would like to encourage all the Ladies out there who are interested in riding a bike or a quad, whether slow or fast, to contact me for further information.

I welcome any enquiries on 082 554 3253.
